Ask the Housing Minister to set the date!

We're so close to getting the Renters' Rights Bill through parliament and securing stronger rights for the 12 million private renters in England. But the government hasn't yet set a date for the many of the changes to come into force.

Without a so-called 'commencement date', renters will be left in limbo, wondering exactly when they'll be safe from no-fault evictions.  The government promised to ban section 21 evictions 'immediately' over a year ago. But renters are still waiting.

Housing Minister Matthew Pennycook must announce a commencement date without delay. The day when landlords can no longer evict people for no reason can’t come soon enough.
